Thank you all for your support. Without an audience, I'd have no house concerts. It has been a real blast! I've learned a lot about what makes these events so wonderful and would like to share some of guidelines with you:
1. Low beach chairs are good to bring if you have them -- and if you aren't taking the CTA to get here. They should get out of storage periodically to air out anyhow.
2. Brownies make a fine contribution to the famous "food spread" [especially when they have chocolate chips in them and you save one for your host]. :) Other food groups are welcome as well.
3. Coors beer (and its cousins) aren't quite as fine a contribution to the "food spread." Red wine and microbrews are finer. ;)
4. Singalongs are most fun when started & encouraged by the featured artist. The sound guy is not good enough to accommodate uninvited singalongs with the artist. Moreover, many folks haven't ever heard the artist before and need a purer experience. (In other words, please don't hum or sing along with the artist unless invited.)
5. The going rate for artist CDs is $15. They prefer exact change. The artists also receive a greater proportion of the sales price when you buy from them directly.
6. We are sad when you are unable to join us and appreciate the opportunity to mourn your absence in advance with the help of a phone call or email of your regrets. Please review our cancellation policy as well to note your responsibilies.
7. Lastly, a key part of the coolness of this event is the private nature of it all. Thanks for allowing us to monitor who we allow into our home by referring invite requests to me. Please encourage your friends to fill out the invitation form so that I can contact them directly.
