It was a beautiful fall evening with a full moon to guide us into the evening with Louise Taylor performing for us the night of Nov. 2nd. I believe the house was filled with 1/2 old fans & 1/2 newcomers to Louise's magic. She drove all the way from Vermont to entertain us, she drank her cup of coffee and we were off to a most enlightening evening. She was promptly introduced by our host, Kelli. Louise opened the evening with "Two Bends in the Road" and we were quickly off into an evening of music that filled you spiritually, as well lightened your heart with lifting rhythms.
Louise is a passionate artist, to say the least. and before the evening was over -- Louise left us all with a sense we had known her for a long time. She constantly interacts with her audience through her smiles, laughter, eyes and stories -- you can't help but be drawn in by her magic. She played many familiar songs, as well as teased us with new material, that we all anxiously await for her to record.
Watching Louise perform, you can't help but feel that it pleases her immensely to please us. As one watches her listen to the applause -- it as if our applause wraps around her and she savours it with the warmth of her smile as a thank you to us. Her strong, rich voice seduces you, fills the room, and takes you for a ride through her life's' journeys.
She played for a total of 2 hours & 10 minutes divided between 2 sets for a total of 20 songs. At the intermission, I took the time to ask several people in the audience that were new to Louise, what were their reactions so far. These were the comments that were given to me:
"Great storyteller".-- "Great depth, very diverse, many styles, I guess that best way to sum it up would be to say multi -faceted".-- "GREAT -WOW!".-- "She's fantastic!" "Wow, why haven't I heard of here before, she's wonderful!" --"Delightful!". --"Love her!".-- "Moving & powerful".-- "Great performer, very warm".
I think she won over many a new fan, as well as pleased her dedicated fans. Anyone who missed this evening, missed a great one! I can't wait till our next visit from Louise, don't miss it - it's a night of music to remember and savour. I will be the first on the list to Get In The House when she announces a return visit!
